My name is Megann (she/her) and I am a speculative fiction writer, editor, and artist specializing in fantasy, science fiction, steampunk, and basically anything with magic. Or dragons. Or starlight and spaceflight and gods that walk the worlds. This website is a portfolio of all my projects, from writing to editing, photography to digital character design, and a little blogging and worldbuilding research thrown in.

I currently live in the mountains with my sisters, where I spend most of my time trying to write and edit with a pair of cats on my keyboard (see photo to the right). When I'm not writing I'm either hiking, drinking coffee (the fuel of every writer), or practicing Aikido.

I graduated summer 2019 with a BFA in Creative and Professional Writing and a Minor in Art from Maharishi International University in Iowa. During my time as a fiction editor for Metafore Magazine and a Writing Tutor for the MIU Writing Center, I discovered a love of editing, and a passion for helping authors tell their stories and grow their writing.

I recently published a children's book (co-authored with my sister) called Bellow of the Beast, and am in the middle of writing my first full-length fantasy/sci-fi novel, Soot of the Stars. I'm also constantly writing and rewriting and editing short stories, photo essays, and thinking of new novel ideas.
